Investing in Caregivers
The Investing in Caregivers work group is co-chaired by Amy Brennan, Executive Director of the Illinois Family Caregiver Coalition; Susan Real, Executive Director of the East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging; and Diane Slezak, President and CEO of Age Options. Members of the group include people with expertise in the needs of caregivers, caregiver policy, and aging services.

Celebrate National Family Caregivers Month
For National Family Caregivers Month, the Investing in Caregivers work group and the Illinois Department on Aging launched #ThanksCaregiving, a statewide social media campaign running throughout November. The campaign thanks caregivers for the work they do, helps more people recognize themselves as caregivers, and connects them to respite and other support available in their communities. Partners and individuals can join by sharing campaign posts and materials from the sharing kit. Learn more about the campaign here.
